Game of ThronesSeason 2 Episode 4: Garden of BonesOn this week’s episode of a Game of Thrones, it’s all about intrigue and plot building. While there wasn’t much in the way of warfare, there were plenty of revealing scenes to keep viewers glued to their screens.Joff’s pretending to be King all the while managing to make the Mad King, Aerys Targaryen look like Mother Teresa.

“Fuck the King’s guard. Fuck the city. Fuck the King.” ~ The HoundGeorge R. R. Martin wrote this edge of your seat episode and just nailed it. Diverging from the usual formula of featuring different characters all over Westeros and beyond, Martin kept the storyline in King’s Landing. There was more than enough material and action to keep the show moving even using one location.

It was nice to see her character progress and display some true Borgia nastiness. Lucrezia has often been portrayed as a naive and silly girl.

Flagellants whip themselves, a public spectacle is made of a woman cutting off her hair and renouncing the world, and the poor attack the wealthy and supposed sodomites openly in the streets while Cardinal Sforza watches it all unfold.

Review of The Borgias, episode 8 of season 2.“This dog will come back and bite” ~ Micoletto “What was it the Spaniard said? I fight men, not boys” ~ CesareAs we inch closer to the end of the season, things heat up between the Borgia brothers once more in this episode entitled, “Truth and Lies” , which centres around Juan’s “version” of the truth at Forli.

“Don’t let envy rule your heart.” ~ RodrigoOn this week’s second to last episode of The Borgias, Lucrezia loses both her suitors, Juan falls deeper into opium addiction while the three amigos, Machiavelli, Cesare and Micheletto bring Savonarola to justice in Rome. This episode pulled no punches and had all the excitement of a season finale.

No, unfortunately not so. This episode was not remotely equal to last week’s mind blowing attack on King’s Landing.

“The most dangerous sport in history has been reborn!”Tonight, we watched the Black team’s Joe McKinley square off against the Red team’s Josh Avery. Joe, a “3 day event rider”, used to dressage and stadium jumping has bit of a rough start in practice but quickly gets the hang of it. Meanwhile, Josh seems confident that this joust is all his.
